Follow Your North Star

“You follow your North Star” is one of the most meaningful things a boss has ever said to me. There was a point in my life when I chose to step away from the career path I had been building because something else felt too important to ignore. Once I made that decision, I felt an immediate sense of relief and knew I had made the right choice.
What are the values you can’t walk away from, even when it would be easier to?
Do those values feel aligned with the company you work for and the people around you?
And if they don’t, what is that misalignment asking you to compromise?
If these questions feel difficult to answer, that may be exactly why they matter. When something feels out of alignment at work, it can show up quietly—in your energy, your confidence, and your ability to stay connected to what you do. Sometimes it helps to have someone guide that reflection. An executive coach can create the space to sort through what feels true, name what has been hard to admit, and turn that clarity into more intentional growth.
That decision changed my life in ways I couldn’t have fully seen at the time, and I still feel deeply grateful that I found the courage to follow my “North Star.”
